Easter In Bendigo Day 4

Monday is the day of the Gala Parade. Narelle, Steve, Tom and Meg joined us today to watch the parade and have some lunch. The parade is not what it once was, what has happened to the quality of floats? when I was a girl they were impressive, well thought out, well constructed pretty even. Today not so much. The kids enjoyed the first hour or so then it all got a bit much so we went to find a quiet, yummy place for lunch.

After lunch we let the small and big kids have a go on some rides.
Fun was had by all, they are all asleep now lol.

Easter In Bendigo Day 3

Today we went to IL's for a BBQ lunch, my mother was also invited. It was nice to just sit around and eat and talk without needing to be anywhere. Kids very tired, parents much the same. Fireworks skipped.

Easter in Bendigo Day 2

Kids Zone here we come. In the park today they had kids activities, but really the only thing the kids wanted to do was run through the wind tunnel, again and again and again.
We also took a ride on an antique fire truck, and walked through the fernery which would have been quite peaceful if it weren't for the kids lol.

Easter In Bendigo Day 1

We went away for Easter last year so decided this year to hang about town. Bendigo has a large Easter festival starting with a family fun day at Lake Weroona, which is where we spent today. We had a lovely time, kids all had a go at the Vision Australia Easter Egg hunt, they all came away with some impressive booty bags.

We decided to forgo the expensive food van lunches and actually ate at the restaurant that is situated at the lake, much nicer and not that much more moneywise. Finally Sam and Audrey wanted to have their faces painted (Ethan very definitely did not) and Phil wanted a spray on tattoo.
It was a fun way to spend the day and the kids are pooped no mucking about at bedtime tonight, must try that more often.

3 more days of the festival to go, giant puppets on the schedule for tomorrow, fireworks on Sunday and the parade in the best company of Narelle and family. More photos to come.
